Common Cod Fiber Guild
The mission of the Common Cod Fiber Guild is to promote fiber activities in the Boston area, as well as to promote local yarn stores, fiber artists, and fiber producers. Every odd-numbered month from September through July, the Guild brings in speakers. These Guild meetings are on Fridays at 7PM. We also offer gatherings like FiberCamp Weekend for crafters of all levels as well as more informal meetups, potlucks, and field trips.
Guild Meetings and Workshops

Guild Meetings are at 7PM on the 2nd Friday of odd-numbered months — September, November, January, March, May, and July. Most speakers from the guild meetings also teach workshops that weekend on anything fiber-related, from spinning to dyeing. It’s a great way to learn a skill from the experts themselves.

Crafty Saturdays and Informal Meetups

Crafty Saturdays are from 2-5PM on the 4th Saturday of every month on the 2nd floor of the Watertown Public Library at 123 Main Street in Watertown. Come hang out and craft, get inspiration, or take advantage of “drop-in crafty office hours”: Get help if you’re stuck with a project, learn to spin, etc. We also host many informal events and outings, including holiday parties and field trips. Check out our Meetup group for more information!

Fiber Camp and Ignite Craft Boston

FiberCamp is our annual urban retreat for fabric and fiber craft enthusiasts, with an emphasis on skill building, skill sharing, and community. FiberCamp kicks off with a Friday night speaker and continues with a weekend of informal mini-classes on smaller, bite-sized ideas and techniques ranging from Fair Isle knitting to quilting to TinkerToy swifts and beyond. FiberCamp is taking a hiatus for 2017 and will return for March 2018. At Ignite Craft Boston, up to 20 creative souls will share their passion for their crafts with a like-minded, crafty audience. we’ll get to see all sorts of amazing, eye-opening DIY in only 90 minutes. Past talks can be seen on the Cod YouTube channel. The next Ignite is January 2018.
