THIS Friday, Sept 21st 2018 at 7 pm – The New England Foundation for the Arts‘ communications manager Ann Wicks will share who NEFA is and give an overview of programs, with a highlight on local public art opportunities. Morganna Becker, CreativeGround associate, will give an overview of NEFA’s region-wide directory of artists, cultural organizations, and creative businesses, and how your organization and members can use it to highlight work and connect with others.
At the Friends Meeting at Cambridge in Harvard Square, 5 Longfellow Park in Cambridge. Free for members, $10 general admission at the door.
NEFA invests in artists and communities and fosters equitable access to the arts, enriching the cultural landscape in New England and the nation. NEFA accomplishes this by granting funds to artists and cultural organizations; connecting them to each other and their audiences; and analyzing their economic contributions. NEFA serves as a regional partner for the National Endowment for the Arts, New England’s state arts agencies, and private foundations. Learn more at www.nefa.org.
Now is the perfect time to become a member for the 2018-2019 season. Along with the benefits from different fiber and fabric shops (online and in person) that you can see at the bottom of www.commoncod.com, members get FREE admission to lectures ($10 value each lecture) and class discounts. And this year, we are excited to publish all our meetings through May! You can see the great list of speakers and events here.
Remember that your $45 membership gets you in FREE to 7 meetings ($70 value) PLUS discounts at local and online fabric and fiber shops (see http://www.commoncod.com/membership-discounts/ for the list).
Last year we had our first yarn auction and fibery yard sale and it was AWESOME! We are going to do it again in January, so we are asking for donations of yarn, fiber, tools, magazines and anything related – if you have anything unloved, we will take it off your hands! Bring it to any meeting, or email firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange pickup/delivery.
