Lots of beautiful knitting and crochet appeared at the September meeting.
First, Monica showed her Heart on Your Sleeve cardigan by Fiona Ellis, with cable panels on the front, back and sleeves. She used Malabrigo yarn.
She also showed us her Hitofude cardigan (designed by Hiroko Fukatsu), made from hand-dyed yarn she bought at FiberCamp. Monica wore it to give a conference presentation and got a lot of compliments!
Alanna made her Weston Windows to my Soul cardi from Prism Saki, a merino/nylon sock yarn. She made the armhole deeper.
Ann showed two pairs of socks: footlets (Turkish Bed Socks by Churchmouse Yarns) made from Lana Grossa Malibu Stretch, a wool/cotton/elastic sock yarn. Also her standard sock recipe from Supersocke Neon Color 2, (re)made for her quick-growing 11-year-old son.
Patience regaled us with tales of her summer travels, chasing the solar eclipse and yarn stores.
Willa made an improvised crocheted blanket for the Welcome Blanket Project from leftover Universal Yarns Deluxe Bulky Superwash and Fibra Natura Lima. You can’t see it well in the photo, but the orange stripe near the edge really pops!
Finally, Margery modeled Carolyn’s Wollston cowl — a Sequence Knitting pattern! Carolyn made the cowl from Knit Global alpaca and found the pattern easy to follow and a pleasure to knit.
