Get ready for the seas of change: Friday, November 11, 7 pm
32 Vassar Street, room 32-141
From our own net of Guild members, we welcome Alasdair Post-Quinn as he debuts his fabulous first book, “Extreme Double-Knitting: New Adventures in Reversible Colorwork.” If you’ve seen him working at Guild meetings, you know that his travels have punch!
Double-knitting is a technique for knitting fabric with no apparent wrong side — and with the potential for unique colorwork possibilities. It has similarities to slip-stitch knitting and brioche knitting, but is in fact a much more flexible technique than either one.
Alasdair is still discovering new aspects of double-knitting and documenting as-yet-undocumented techniques. He’ll take you on a tour of his brain, showing you how he progressed from the most basic two-color reversible techniques to the “extreme” double-knitting he specializes in now. He’ll talk about his creative process and his journey to published author-hood. And of course, he’ll be selling and signing his books afterward!
We’ll begin our meeting shortly after 7pm with guild announcements, our first “destash” raffle and show and tell before Alasdair lets loose. We’ll also host a bake sale after the meeting, with proceeds going to the FiberCamp organizational costs.
This meeting is free for members and open to guests for a $5 donation. Click here
